Key Highlights
At present Nepal/world is suffering from COVID-19 pandemic. Students are out of schools and escaped from education. Similarly most vulnerable people are also in food, wash and hygiene crisis. So, by analysing and introspecting the current situation, Rastriya Rojgar Prawardhan Kendra (RRP), Malangwa Sarlahi and World Vision International Nepal has started Nepal Cover Project (NCP) collaboratively.
Under Nepal Cover Project, targeted beneficiaries were Register children and family of Haripurwa Municipality and Parsa Rural Municipality. It also focused to the PD Hearth Children of Haripurwa. In addition, Quarantine of Haripurwa, Parsa, Bramhapuri and Chandranagar was supported with Food item, wash corner and Hygiene kits.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Rastrya Rojgar Prawardhan Kendra (RRPK) along with partnership World Vision International Nepal (WVIN) has been working under Nepal Cover Project (NCP) for 4 palikas like Haripurwa Municipality, Parsa, Brahampuri and Chandranagar Rural Municipality.
- In Haripurwa Municipality 1408 Registered children were supported with hygiene kits, 225 Registered family were supported with food support as per the relief distribution guidelines of Nepal Government, 157 malnourished children of PD Hearth were supported with super flour, 81 person of Quarantine were supported with food support & hygiene kits and 2 quarantine schools and 2 health post was supported with wash point corners.
- In Parsa Rural Municipality, 1080 Registered Children were supported with Hygiene Kits, 353 Register Family were supported with food support, 86 people of Quarantine were supported with food & hygiene kits and 2 Quarantine Schools and 2 Health Post was supported with Wash Corner.
- In Brahampuri Rural Municipality 61 people were supported with food support and hygiene kits of Quarantine. Similarly, Chandranagar Rural Municipality 155 people were supported with food support and hygiene kits of Quarantine.
Food support for Haripurwa Municipality and Parsa Rural Municipality for Registered family was like Rice-30 kg, Pulse-3 kg, Sugar-2 kg, Mustard Oil-2 lit. Salt-2 kg and Life boy Soap per head/per family.
Hygiene Kits support for Haripurwa Municipality and Parsa Rural Municipality for Registered family was like Body Soap-6 pc, Towel-1 pc, Cumb-1 pc, Washing Soap-4 pc, Tooth Paste-1 pc, Nail Cutter-1 pc, Bag-1 pc and Soap Case-1 pc per Register Children.
Super Flour for PD Hearth Children at Haripurwa Municipality was like Rice-10 kg, Soybean-10 kg, Wheat-10 kg, Sugar-3 kg and Ghee-1 kg per PH Hearth Child.
Quarantine Food Support for 81 people at Haripurwa Municipality was like Rice- 486 kg, Pulse-81 kg, Mustard Oil-40.5 kg, Sugar-40.5 kg, Salt-40.5 kg and Egg-1134 pc.
Quarantine Food Support for 86 people at Parsa Rural Municipality was like Rice- 516 kg, Pulse-86 kg, Mustard Oil-43 kg, Sugar-43 kg, Salt-43 kg and Egg-1204 pc.
Quarantine Food Support for 155 people at Chandranagar Rural Municipality was like Rice- 930 kg, Pulse-155 kg, Mustard Oil-77.5 kg, Sugar-77.5 kg, Salt-77.5 kg and Egg-2170 pc.
Quarantine Food Support for 61 people at Brahampuri Rural Municipality was like Rice- 368 kg, Pulse-61 kg, Mustard Oil-31 kg, Sugar-31 kg, Salt-31 kg and Egg-854 pc.
Quarantine Hygiene Kits for 81 people at Haripurwa Municipality was like Cotton Towel-81, Bathing Soap-162, Laundry Soap-162, Soap Case-81, Tooth Brush-81, Tooth Paste-81, Sanitary Pad-17, Hand Sanitizer-81, Liquid Chlorine-81 and Mask-810.
Quarantine Hygiene Kits for 86 people at Parsa Rural Municipality was like Cotton Towel-86, Bathing Soap-172, Laundry Soap-172, Soap Case-86, Tooth Brush-86, Tooth Paste-86, Sanitary Pad-18, Hand Sanitizer-86, Liquid Chlorine-86 and Mask-860.

Quarantine Hygiene Kits for 61 people at Brahampuri Rural Municipality was like Cotton Towel-61, Bathing Soap-122, Laundry Soap-122, Soap Case-61, Tooth Brush-61, Tooth Paste-61, Sanitary Pad-17, Hand Sanitizer-61, Liquid Chlorine-61 and Mask-610.
The distribution was planned in close coordination with BWSN and Local Level stakeholders like Major/Chairperson, vice chairperson, Health officers and Head Teacher of Schools. The following table gives brief description of activities that was conducted before, during and after the distribution of food, hygiene, super flour and wash corner.
